Luluka is my favorite leopard in the Masai Mara! She showed herself to me every year for six years in a row and gave me plenty of time to photograph her each time. That day we found Luluka sleeping on a steep wall by a creek. After 4 hours of waiting in the blazing midday heat, she finally decided to wake up at some point. She had it good because she lay in the shadow of this wall. After she woke up, she decided to look for a new place, which is how this picture was taken. I framed it so that only this dark wall appeared as the backdrop and underexposed the image, which created this mystical atmosphere.
